The character-filled pub offered a warm welcome with friendly locals and enjoyable meals. the room could use some updates as cleanliness in the bathroom was lacking, and noise from downstairs made it difficult to rest. a decent budget spot for a short stay.

We had such a lovely overnight stay! The food was really delightful, especially the full English breakfast. I also loved how the room was calming and comfortable, perfect for a good night's sleep! The evening menu was very reasonably priced too, making it a fantastic value. We'll definitely be back!

Friendly staff made us feel welcome.

The room was noisy due to the pub below. We could hear every conversation outside, which made it hard to sleep. the door to our room was troublesome to unlock, creating unnecessary frustration during our stay.

    no lift

I truly appreciated the warm and inviting atmosphere of The Black Horse Inn. The decor, though traditional, was charming, and the relaxing common areas provided a beautiful space where I could unwind after my daily explorations.

A lift would improve accessibility for seniors.

had a great stay at the black horse inn. the location is super quiet and nice. hosts were really friendly and helped my friend with dairy-free options. the room was comfy and clean and had a calm vibe. food was pretty good too, especially for the price!

only downsides were the room felt a bit dated and need a little refresh. also, the breakfast options could be a bit more flexible.

    noisy environment

The noise from the bar below can disrupt an early night, particularly if your room is right above the front door. Cleanliness in the shower room raised some concerns, with dust in the air vent and dirty showerheads not setting a good impression. For breakfast, the full English sausages appeared to be supermarket fare rather than local specialties, which feels a bit lackluster for the rates charged. The room's decor leans toward dated, needing a refresh for a better overall experience.

Our stay at The Black Horse Inn was absolutely delightful! The room was cozy, complete with a nice armchair that was perfect for reading. The locals were friendly, and the atmosphere in the pub was warm and inviting. We enjoyed a superb full English breakfast that set us up for the day.

No major complaints, but some noise from the pub below.

    cozy room

    curtain issue

The room was cozy, perfect for me and my son, and we loved having a warm drink ready in our room upon arrival. There’s a lovely garden and a nice sitting area to unwind after a long day. Only downside was the curtain that didn't quite fit right, but it didn’t put a damper on our stay at all! 🌟

Request a quieter room away from the pub for a more restful night, especially if you plan to sleep early.

    Nice stay with friendly service

Had a good night here. The location was really quiet, and I could park right outside. The hosts were super helpful with menu options for my friend who’s dairy-free. The meal we had the night before was great, but the continental breakfast was a bit of a mess. the room was comfy and relaxed.

Great for couples looking for a cozy retreat

You can park right outside which is super handy especially when you've got bags to haul. The hosts were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to help my friend figure out what to eat since she’s dairy free.

It wasn't exactly cheap but still reasonable for what we got.
